UPDATE: Somerville mom who fled with daughter 26 years ago out on bail
This woman lived a lie for 26 years and deprived her daughter of a relationship with her father and, arguably, his family and friends. Only time will tell if any of the harm that has been done can be undone.

Stepfather Peter Wilson gets 55 years for slitting girl's throat
WEB EDITION: Sarah Wilson's victim impact statement
Based upon the above statement I must conclude that Sarah Wilson is a vindictive, self absorbed woman, hiding behind a religious facade, who accepts no blame for the death of Clare. This, even though she brought Peter James Wilson into their lives, excluded Clare’s father, James Shelswel, from the lives of his daughters Suzanna and Clare, did not want her father to attend Clare’s funeral, and continues to exclude him from Suzanna’s life. It pains me to think that Suzanna is still in the custody and care of this woman.
The child’s mother and grandmother remain in custody charged with the death and multiple counts of injury to a child, both held without bond.

Alan Shanof - “Instead of tinkering with the status quo, why not blow up the current system and design a new system, a non-adversarial system that limits the role of lawyers? Perhaps we're afraid of even thinking about designing a more intelligent system dealing with family law disputes. …
At the same time, we need to look at what motivates, and eliminate the worst excesses in family law litigants' behaviour. False accusations of abuse, denial of access, hiding assets, bullying and other abuses must be eliminated by instituting real and timely remedies.”
